Fire Assessment Fee Hardship Assistance Applications Due by May 1st

          On October 1, 2015 the City of Leesburg implemented an annual fire assessment.  The purpose of this assessment is to fund the fire protection services benefiting improved property located within the City of Leesburg.  The annual fire protection assessment is based on the classification of each parcel of property and number of billing units contained therein. 

          Applications for exemption from this assessment for the 2023-24 year are due by May 1, 2023.  Information on how to apply for an exemption (including the application form) can be found on the Fire Department’s Annual Fire Protection Assessment page. 

          Leesburg is a progressive city of more than 28,000 residents in northwest Lake County. The city government serves twice as many people with its electric, gas, water and wastewater public utilities.
