Lake County Launches 2022 Santa Paws Operation
Delivers Christmas joy and furry friends directly to homes for holiday
This Christmas, Lake County families can bring the joy of the holidays directly to their front porch with Operation Santa Paws. The program, offered by Lake County Animal Shelter, offers an extra splash of magic by delivering furry best friends to homes on Christmas Eve.
The “Operation Santa Paws” adoption event provides doorstep delivery to residents who adopt an eligible pet from Dec. 18 – 23. Furry friends adopted as part of the program will arrive on Christmas Eve at a pre-determined time. There is no extra charge for this special delivery. Space is limited, so families hoping to surprise their loved ones should hurry to the shelter to pick out their new best friend.
Additionally, the shelter is offering “pawtificates,” special gift certificates for pet adoptions at the Lake County Animal Shelter. Pawtificates can be purchased for $10 for two cats or $20 for a dog. Pet adoptions include vaccinations, microchip, personalized identification tag, spay or neuter procedures, and a lifetime of love. Pawtificates do not expire and make great gifts for those who are considering pet adoption but may need a little more time to decide.
“We always have a variety of wonderful pets waiting to join their new family,” said Whitney Boylston, Director of the Lake County Animal Shelter. “This season is best spent surrounded by loved ones, and we want nothing less for the animals in our shelter who would love to experience the holidays with their forever family.”
The Lake County Animal Shelter is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. The shelter is closed on Wednesdays and holidays, including Christmas Day, and will close at 4 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
