Lake County Government is conducting a study to identify areas within the community where households lack access to high-speed, affordable, and reliable broadband internet services.
To facilitate the assessment, Lake County is distributing an online survey to research and document the current broadband landscape and the needs of the county’s residents and businesses. The assessment will identify current providers and services available across the county, including within municipal boundaries.
Lake County encourages residents to complete the survey, which includes a speed test, using their home or business connection so that it can accurately record service parameters. If internet access is unavailable at home, residents can submit the survey using a cellular signal, a computer at another location, or a paper version by visiting the Lake County Administration Building in Tavares.
The survey opened to the public on Thursday, September 1. Those interested can learn more about the survey by visiting www.LakeCountyFl.Gov/Broadband.
