City of Eustis issued the following announcement.
The proposed Community/Conference/Sailing Center has prompted development interest in a new hotel in Downtown Eustis. The City of Eustis was recently approached by Eastern Arts & Humanities, Inc. related to a $22 million, 80-120 room hotel project. The developer’s interest in a new hotel is largely tied to the proposed Community/Conference/Sailing Center that is part of an upcoming referendum to be held on March 17, 2020.
The proposed Community/Conference/Sailing Center and hotel project would help provide a foundation for enhanced event, entertainment, and business opportunities. The new hotel would accommodate visitors attending events for eSports competitions, expos, conferences, as well as local events such as weddings, banquets, meetings and other needs. Both projects generate and increase business and development activity, expand the tax base, and allow for the City to reduce the tax burden on existing taxpayers.
