City of Eustis recently issued the following announcement.

With a $3,000 Grand Prize, sponsored by Bay and Lake Pharmacies, this year’s event on March 26, will take place exclusively in Ferran Park. “With the historic bandshell stage and Lake Eustis as a backdrop, the park provides a perfect setting for our family- friendly event,” says Events & Tourism Manager, Miranda Muir. To better accommodate scheduling of the various entertainers, the times for this year’s event have also been changed. Performances will begin at 2:00 p.m. and run through 5:00 p.m. with the Grand Finale following at 6:00 p.m.

During the 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. performances, the general public is encouraged to vote for their favorite act.  In exchange for receipts showing purchases made at a City of Eustis business during the month of March, voting tickets for the People’s Choice Award will be given out at the City Tent, located in Ferran Park.  Each $5 spent, earns residents one vote.  The act with the most votes will win a $1,500 cash prize sponsored by the Lake Eustis Area Chamber of Commerce.

Ferran Park will also host giant board games and a bounce house from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.  There will be fun photo opportunities, great food, and more.  “The weather looks great, and this is going to be a fantastic day for the whole family to come out and have fun,” Muir said.

The Eustis Busker Festival is a unique event in its 6th year and is a chance for residents to experience a wide variety of talent.  From juggling to vocals, busking has been a time-honored tradition throughout the world.  Celebrities such as Ed Sheeran, the late Robin Williams, and even Pierce Brosnan, who performed as a fire eater, all got their start as buskers. Muir encourages everyone to, “Come out and support these very talented individuals.”
