At 5:10 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3, Nia DeBenedittis, a former South Lake High School standout, helped lead the Saint Leo Lions to a 12-0 victory over the Assumption Greyhounds in their NCAA Division II softball game.
The matchup, held at Mary Cannon Cabot Stadium, marked the teams’ first meeting of the season.
DeBenedittis went 1-for-2 with a run scored and an RBI.
The Lions are set to face the Greyhounds again at 7:26 p.m. at Mary Cannon Cabot Stadium.
