On Tuesday, March 3, at 7:26 p.m., Nia DeBenedittis, a former South Lake High School standout now playing for the Saint Leo Lions, helped her college team secure a 13-1 victory in an NCAA Division II softball game against the Assumption Greyhounds.
Mary Cannon Cabot Stadium served as the site for the matchup, marking the teams’ second meeting this season. In the previous contest at 5:10 p.m., the Lions earned a 12-0 win over the Greyhounds.
DeBenedittis tallied one hit in two at-bats and scored one run.
The Lions are scheduled to play again on Wednesday, March 11, at Mary Cannon Cabot Stadium against the Caldwell Cougars.
