East Lake County Welcomes Mini Library

0Comments

A mini library opened in East Lake County on Monday, August 29, at the East Lake Sports & Community Complex.

This is a temporary facility for the East Lake County Library to serve the Sorrento community and surrounding areas. The facility will house a browsable, 2,000-book collection. The building will be open Monday – Thursday, and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and will be closed on Fridays and Sundays.

In the next six-to-eight months, the library will move into a larger modular facility on the grounds of the East Lake Sports & Community Complex. This will be home to the East Lake County Library until the library can expand into its custom-built permanent location.

In the next few months, the Lake County Office of Library Services will host community meetings to discuss the permanent location with area residents. Following discussions, the project will go through bid, design, and construction. The permanent location will be constructed at the East Lake Sports & Community Complex and is expected to be opened in the next 3 to 4 years.
