City of Clermont: Paddleboards Now Available for Rent at Clermont’s Waterfront Park

Self-serve paddleboard rentals are now available at Clermont’s Waterfront Park, 100 3rd Street.

Installed last week, the kiosk is located near Champion Splash Park. A rental app can be downloaded when a QR code on the kiosk is scanned by a smartphone. Once the app is open, the renter is walked through the process and is on the water in minutes.

“We have had many requests for paddleboard rentals at Waterfront Park, and this company was approved last year,” Parks and Recreation Director Brian Forman explained. “The company was impacted by the nationwide supply-chain challenges, so there was a delay.  We have them now and are excited to be able to offer another water activity to our community.”

Four boards are available for anyone 18 years and older to rent for $25 an hour.  Customers are charged for the time ending when the board is returned to the kiosk. Rentals are available during regular park hours – sunrise to sunset, seven days a week.

Each paddleboard comes with a paddle and a life vest and is GPS tagged to prevent theft. Florida-based company PADL provides similar services in many waterfront communities, including Tampa, St. Petersburg, Vero Beach, Fiesta Key, Fleming Island, and now Clermont. Forman said additional kiosks may be added at other waterfront locations if this one is successful.
