Ace Hardware Fruitland Park will give away free American flags on Saturday, May 28 to honor the Memorial Day holiday.

Florida lost 458 soldiers in the Korean war and 1,280 in the Vietnam conflict.

Consumers visiting the store at 3431 US Hwy 441, Fruitland Park will receive a free 8’ by 12’ American flag. A second will be donated to the local VFW Hawthorne Memorial Post to be used for marking veterans’ graves on Memorial Day.

This year, Ace Hardware Corporation aims to again give away more than one million American flags nationally. Last year, it gave away more than 500,000 to Ace customers and more than 550,000 to more than 1,900 VFW Posts.

Flags will be available at Ace Hardware Fruitland Park while quantities last. Each consumer is limited to one free flag; no purchase is necessary.
