2023 TEDxEustis Conference Announces Speaker Application Deadline

Earlier this year, a slate of local speakers and experts shared “ideas worth spreading” at the 5th Annual TEDxEustis event at Eustis High School. The success of the conference has led the organizers to announce that applications are now being accepted for the 2023 version of the event.

“The speakers we featured earlier this year were amazing,” says TEDxEustis organizer Timothy Totten. “Our sold-out audience enjoyed talks on diverse topics from how to fix the racial wealth gap and the secrets of branding to how to think inside the box like a contortionist.”

Totten and his co-organizer, Byron Faudie, are currently seeking speaker applications for the January 28, 2023 TEDxEustis event. Applications can be found online at TEDxEustis.com and are due by Monday, August 8th at 11:59pm.

“Our goal is to find 8 or more awesome new speakers with fantastic ideas to share,” says Totten. “We’re not limiting our list to experienced speakers either. If someone has a great story or idea, we will make sure that our curator and our coaches prepare them to give the best talk of their life.”

The all-volunteer group organizing the 2023 TEDxEustis event will provide a speaker coach for each of the presenters chosen. This volunteer will work with the presenter to ensure an engaging performance, regardless of the presenter’s public speaking experience or previous lack of it. The organizers believe that great ideas are worth spreading and shouldn’t be sidelined by stage fright.

While presenters are not paid for their efforts, each talk – which can range from 3 to 18 minutes – will be recorded and uploaded to the TEDx video portal to be shared with the world.

Interested speaker applicants should apply at TEDxEustis.com or contact Timothy Totten at 352-242-8111 or email tedxeustis@gmail.com with other questions.
